Alyssa Brissett

Alyssa Brissett lives in Brooklyn, New York and works as an Access, Delivery, & Resource Sharing Assistant at the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library at New York University. Alyssa holds a BA in English Literature and Anthropology from Cornell University and a MA in Childhood Education from New York University.

Project IDOL will allow her to pursue an MLIS degree and enhance her experience working in libraries and continue studying how patrons approach and interact with information presented to them. IDOL will give her the opportunity not only to engage with people and help them, but to do research and organize information.

The goals and direction of Project IDOL align with her values and inform her approach to instruction. She is eager to embark on a career in librarianship and strives to be a librarian that values diversity, and support an organizational culture that is appreciative of different backgrounds and perspectives, in better service to increasingly heterogeneous communities.
