Rachel Esguerra
Rachel Esguerra lives in San Diego, California and works as a Library Clerk in the Literature Department of the San Diego Public Library. She holds AS and BS degrees in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
As a Filipino-American, she is concerned that there are only a handful of Filipino librarians in the area, despite Filipinos being the second largest Asian American
population in the US. She very much wants to elevate and advance multicultural communities with knowledge and opportunities. As a librarian she will have a
hand in collection development and programming that will better serve San Diego’s expansively diverse cultures. She will be in a position where she can
help these groups be better represented and so encourage improved communication, understanding and opportunities.
